After the first coffe at 8am Wietske Kiuper the dentalhygenist and I started the day. She has her own room for her patients. Most of the patients come to her with periodontitis. If the patient was already treated by her she takes a look at his periodontal status and compare the results with the earlier ones. If the patient's status got worse than it was before Wietske taught him the right cleaning technic with electric toothbrush and orderd him to use interdental brushes. She showed some pictures to the patient to demonstrate what could happen to his teeth if he is not cleaning it in the right way. After that she removed the patient's calculus (subgingival and also supragingival) and she finished the procedure with polishing the teeth. Most of the patients had really bad oral hygine so they all got the same treatment (removing the calculus) and I was assisting to her. We finished with the last patient around 5pm.
After we got home we had a delicious dinner than played some boardgames.
