Racing horses in Bears

Today we visited Bears, a small town near to Mantgum. We went by bike, but we lost the way at first. Finally we found the right way, and arrived there. We wanted to see there a barn where are some racing horses. But when we wanted go in a huge dog wanted to eat us so we almost turned back. Fortunately a man was there so we could see the horses, they were really beautiful. After that we went home, where we ate a hot soup and after that watched a film.

Daycare Thursday :)

On that day we had a very nice weather with a lot of sunshine. We went happily to the practice place. We arrived early to Buitenpost, so we decided to take a walk in the town.

Everybody in the town was very kind to us! :D

I found this in Poiesz! Hungarian goulash - instant soup!!!

Because of the nice weather we were outside in the daycare. The children really enjoyed to spend some time in the open air.

We went inside to have koekjes & drink. We stayed in the classroom by the other part of the day.

I made this! :D

There are a lot of toys in the classroom about healthcare. The children likes to play with them (as you can see :D ).

This was my favourite practice day!:)

Middle of the week

So today we woke up again at 6 am to head to Buitenpost at 7 am to our practise place. In the first part of the day I got the chance to work with an orthodontic assistant. She is working all alone: checking the braces, fixing them, taking them off, making and placing the retainers on the palatinal and lingual part of the teeth. Although she is working alone I could help her and she taught me a lot of thing for example how to make an alginat impression and she let me do it on a patient as well. Than she showed me how to make a plaster model from the impression and after two times she let me do it myself.
At home I have never met an assistant like her who does all these things alone instead of the dentist and I found it very interesting.
In the second part of the day after lunch I was working with a dentist who is working with adults but with children as well. She mostly did fillings and I assisted her, but we did check ups as well: we looked for cavities, gingivitis and other mutations.
We finished at 5 pm as usual so we got home around 6 pm and the others were waiting us with freshly made dinner.

Friesepoort

At 9.30 we went to Friesepoort school, because Johan invited us to one of his lessons. The lesson started with a presentation about a ski camp then we learned about the fever, the local students in Dutch, we in Hungarian. By the end of the lesson we discussed the practice's schedule. After that we ate sandwiches, did the shopping and went home.

The work must go on

Today was the change between the groups. So I was with the smallest ones. It was a pleasure to work with the kids even though they cannot speak in english. We played together a lot. I helped to the child-cares to feed the babys. It was a great day, I liked it.
